Rider Guidelines |
- Arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and be prepared to leave on time.
- Make sure your bike is in proper working order before you arrive.

Carry a spare tube, patch kit, pump, water bottle, and some form
of I.D. (emergency information).
- Ride in a safe manner and obey CO motor vehicle laws.
- An ANSI, SNELL, or UL approved helmet is required.
- Don't ride in categories that are too difficult.

Advise the leader if you are leaving the group or making an
unscheduled stop.
- Enjoy the ride and thank the ride leader.

- Bring maps or cue sheets of the route. (Optional)

Bring a waiver
and make sure each rider has signed it.
- Ensure every rider is wearing a helmet.
- Discourage riders with unsound bikes from joining the ride.
- Adhere to the advertised pace of the ride.

Within the first few miles, urge riders unable to maintain the
pace to leave the ride. Or if someone is willing, the group may
be split into 2 paces.

Advise riders exceeding your intended pace that they will be
considered to be on their own.

If unable to lead a ride, contact someone as soon as possible
so that a substitute may be found.
- Should be able to perform minor repairs, fix flats, etc.

Note: The above average speeds assume flat terrain. Speed will be lower when
hills are involved. Also, the typical cruising speed will be higher than
the average (about 2 mph).
